The project titled “Lava, Cultures and Archaeological Nuclei in Volcanic Environments (VOLKAN): Traces of Prehistoric Life in Ağrı and Tendürek Mountains (Doğubayazıt)”, led by Dr. Kemal Koçaklı, has been awarded funding under the TÜBİTAK 3501 – Career Development Program.

The VOLKAN Project aims to examine the environmental adaptation, resource use, and settlement dynamics of prehistoric communities in the volcanic landscapes of Eastern Anatolia through an interdisciplinary approach. The project will utilize remote sensing, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), geomorphological analyses, and paleoclimate data to reveal the long-term evolution of human-environment interaction.
