The 2023 results of the list of the world's most influential scientists, prepared annually in collaboration with Elsevier and Stanford University, have been announced. While a total of 66 scientists from Istanbul Technical University were included in the "Annual Impact" category, 4 academics from the Eurasia Institute of Earth Sciences, Prof. Dr. Aral Okay, Prof. Dr. Celâl Şengör, Prof. Dr. Hans Jensen Thybo and Prof. Dr. Tolga Görüm, were included in the list.

Prof. Dr. Aral Okay, Prof. Dr. Celâl Şengör and Prof. Dr. Hans Jensen Thybo were included in the "Career-Long Impact" category.

A total of 223,152 scientists were listed in the "Annual Impact" category and 217,097 scientists were listed in the "Career-Long Impact" category worldwide. The ranking was based on objective criteria such as the number of qualified publications of academics and the number of citations to these publications, the number of patents, h-index, and hm-index.
